FRAGMENTED STILLNESS

Driving through the roads that form the urban fabric of Bangkok, we see glimpses of things that exist in the periphery, in the spaces in-between roads or under overpasses and expressways. These are spaces that are born out of the process of road building. They are spaces that stand in close proximity to the roads but operate at a slower speed and rhythm. They are transient spaces much like the roads that shape them, but they are also “public” spaces that are sites of various activities, both planned and unplanned, that invite us to contemplate on how we have shaped our urban environment and how they are shaping our lives.
