Eu Jin, Lim (b. 1988) is an artist/ design architect based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Eu Jin graduated from The Glasgow School of Arts and has gained graphical and architectural experience in several places including Sou Fujimoto Architects, Japan and Buro Ole Scheeren, Beijing. He is currently practicing in the architecture industry locally in Malaysia.
The fine line between the sequential art of graphic novels and the technical drawings of architectural orthographic blueprints has always been his fascination. Being first exposed and influenced by the narrative qualities of comics/ manga as he was growing up, he now tries to bring them together in the architectural profession. The series of drawings in the projects is a continuing research that attempts to find the relationship between both the professions and how they would inform one and another in their productions.
The work includes a whimsical narrative site analysis for a thesis based in Copenhagen, Denmark, a drawing experiment on the melancholic Sir John Soane’s Museum, London, a romantic piece on the wondrous heritage Blue Mansion (Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion) in Penang, Malaysia in collaboration with architect Laurence Loh and Lin Lee Loh Lim of Arkitek LLA which has been published and the most recent on Razak Mansion, Kuala Lumpur.
